Busy, Busy

Daniel and I left the fertility doctors office reassured and excited for what's to come. The entire office staff is very accommodating and our doctor is awesome. Doc says that due to our ages and blood test results - that we really have nothing to stress about. Turns out I don't really have a blocked tube so he doesn't want to do surgery. Yay. He also says he thinks I'll be pregnant in the next few months. Woohoo!

We just need a little bit of help getting us to conceive, so I'll be starting some meds this week. Typical fertility meds...plus some injections. The possibility of twins is moderate. I'll be monitored closely in the next few weeks.

In the mean time, we've got a lot of other things happening in the next month or so.

  • I need to finally enroll the dog children in obedience classes. Seriously. They're adorable but they don't listen unless they want to. Especially Bailey. She's 22 pounds of muscle and she needs to learn some manners.
  • Tons of people coming to visit us the week of July 9. First Daniel's cousin, Jimmy on the 11th. He leaves on the 12th and my parents arrive that day until the 14th. Alison wants to come on the 14th through the 16th. Oy.
  • Comicon in San Diego. Daniel is very excited as I've been telling him we should go for the last few years. We'll be there July 20-23.
  • We'll be back in S.D. July 27-30 to visit my parents and see Wicked.
Sometime in there, we'll be fitting in some movies and plays....blood tests and ultrasounds. I feel like it's going to be non-stop hysteria for a few weeks...but, it's all worth it. Thanks for all your well wishes. I'll let you know in about a month or so how the treatment worked. In the meantime, it will be back to my regular blogging.

Adventures in Crockpot Cooking

Crockpot Cookin' is all fun and games until you realize that a crucial ingredient is just over 2 months passed it's "Best if used by" date and the clock is ticking for it to cook for 6 hrs so you can serve dinner by 6. So then you grab your *almost 4* year old and toss him in the van and you race to the grocery (while you've got your husband on blue tooth talking you down from the crazy "I am not cut out to do things like this!" ledge. You wrap that up and he's very encouraging and you race through the grocery with your little boy (who has very short legs in times like this and does not run fast enough) and you grab the broth and make a mad dash to the register, but your son almost knocks down a five foot display of fruit cakes that was in the middle of the flipping aisle (for goodness sakes!) like the HULK, but he stops just short of disaster and very calmly says " It's alright, Mama. Tuesday: Girl's Day

Last Tuesday was Finnegan's first full day away from the house and me. Daniel and I carefully got him ready and loaded him up in his car seat. I loaded a bag with 20 diapers, 4 burp cloths, 3 changes of clothes and five bottles of my milk for his nine hour stay at Cheryl's*. And as we were securing him in his seat, I might have cried... just a little bit. And then I went back to sleep for a while because Zoe is still my little sleepyhead who will sleep til 10am if I let her. I took a shower and got ready - meaning, I actually put some lipstick on. I got her up at nine. We had breakfast together and watched some PBS Kids. And then we got ready for the park because we were lucky enough to have a lovely, sunny day instead of this grey weather we've had since yesterday. Zoe squealed with delight when I pulled into the parking lot of the park.
