The Present & My Future: KVB & D

Me and D. in Santa Monica about a month after we started dating. We were there to see Gaelic Storm play at O'brien's Pub.

In honor of our two year anniversary and looking forward to the many years we will celebrate together, I bring to you The first 72+ hours of our relationship -

Seeing him across the rehearsal room Thinking: "He's way too young for me"
Thinking: "He does kind of look like Matt Lillard, doesn't he?"
Thinking: "Wow! Look at that smile!"
Talking to him while on break, he's actually 24. Thank you!
He carries a lighter and cigarettes, but he's not a smoker.
I am. (Not anymore)
Theatre group goes to eat, we flirt all night
I want to play footsies, but don't. What is going on with me?
He goes to leave and I say I should go too.
We talk outside for 15 minutes and he invites me back to his place and I say yes.
We hang out talking and getting to know each other better
I go home that night
He asks me to breakfast the next morning after we audition for a play (1st date - 1/18/03)
Our server takes so long it's actually brunch (3 hours)
We don't care because the conversation is good and nonstop
We go for coffee after rehearsal (1/18/03)
While drinking coffee we can't stop smiling and touching eachothers hands
We leave in separate cars and meet at his apartment...

Looking Back and Moving Forward:

I could go on and on about it and you would just BlogClicker to someone else anyway. What I can say is D. got my attention right away. I was drawn to him. His eyes and smile got me first, but really...it was his wealth of information on things I don't know. I am so impressed by his studies of languages; travels to China; writing; the number of books he's read and is informed about;etc. I also love that he takes care of me and our mini family and has wonderful parents and a sister who I enjoy being around and talking to. I love that he can handle me and my family with all our quirks. Most of all, it takes a strong man to support me. He knows all about my past: every embarrassing, sad, painful bit of it, and he loves me still. He's been at every single doctors appointment and held my hand and hugged me tight after every bit of bad news I've recieved in the past two years. He's been there for all the bad times and he's responsible for all the wonderful times. He's wiped away tears and made me smile smiles that hurt my face because they were so big. He's my best friend and I am so proud to count him as my friend, let alone the man I am going to marry.

I feel blessed. Posted by Hello
